Links to Stuff We Love

Please check out our Sponsors Websites!

Our Title Sponsor - Sturdy Bitch - they make great women's apparel with an attitude.  That's what attracted us to them and we are proud to represent them.  As their tagline says "It's not an insult.  It's a compliment."  Gotta love it, so check out their products and make a purchase.  Wear it proudly and know that you are sturdy!

Our Shop Sponsor - Big Tree Bikes - formerly Fluidride, Jerry and Zeb have enthusiastically taken on the task of running a bike shop.  They are continuing their history of wrenching bikes and selling high quality grear.  If you're slipping during shifting, need new tires, got a brake rub or whatever, go into the shop and get some help.

Our Bike Sponsor - Diamondback Bikes - we're riding Diamondback for the coming season and are stoked to have them as our bike sponsor.  We'll be riding the Sortie Blacks - 26.5 pounds, 5 inchs of travel,  perfect for the BC Bike Race.  Some of the gals will be riding the 20.5 pound carbon Axis - a hard tail frame will further improve their game as they participate in cross country races this season.  Thanks Diamondback and Paul - Lovin' it!!  Check out the bikes and watch the blog for video and updates on the bikes, trails, etc.

Also sponsored by Rocket Promo - Rocket Promo does promotional gear in the Portland area - but it doesn't matter where you are, they can still help with logo hats, jackets, tees, as well as jerseys and cycling jackets.  They're putting together our jerseys and jackets and we couldn't be more excited!

Other Stuff To Check Out...

Local riding in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, a "must" visit is Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance.  Evergreen advocates for the maintenance and addition of local mountain bike trails.  There is a robust work party and ride calendar and Evergreen's activity has been featured in Dirt Rag, the Seattle Times, Bike Magazine and many more!

South end riding in Seattle - check out Friends of Capitol Forest. They do amazing work keeping the Capitol Forest trails open and they put on some fine events down there as well. Check out their Super D events - absolutely fun, rip-roaring course.  Very, very good times

Angela's Blog - Angela is a member of the Sturdy Bitch Racing team, a pro rider, a writer as well.  Check out her thoughts on the local bike scene and more at her blog.

The Breast Cancer Fund is our team's charity of choice.  We learned of the BCF through the Team LUNA Chix program.  Though we are no longer directly affiliated with the LUNA program, we think their choice of the Breast Cancer Fund was a good one.  The Breast Cancer Fund advocates for the identification and elimination of the environmental causes of breast cancer.  This disease affects our sisters, our mothers, our grandmothers and our friends.  Please help them continue their important work by making a donation.

Team LUNA Chix - our team came together directly or indirectly through the Team LUNA Chix program.  Some of us were members, others we met through the racing scene and women's events.  Team LUNA Chix is a program created by LUNA Bar to provide an opportunity and a venue for women to participate in sports together.  LUNA knows that many women learn differently than men and that a different type of environment could help them learn and enjoy sports in a way that could maintain their interest and help them grow.  We are proud to have been part of the program for the last 5 years and want to continue to steer women towards it.  There are mountain bike, running, triathlon, and road cycling teams throughout the US.   Watch their calendars nationwide and go check out a workout.  Thanks LUNA! We appreciate all you have done for us!

Ah, what can we say?  The Speedy Beavers Racing team - ya gotta love 'em.  Not only does the team race; XC and DH, but the ladies also do women's rides and help bring more women into the sport.  The team holds DH clinics throughout the year and partners with Kona & Bikeworks Lake Stevens to make demo bikes available for those new to the sport or that want to check out a new ride.

Need an after work brew or Scotch?  Check out our favorite Seattle watering hole, St. Andrew's Bar & Grill.  They host our year end auctions and put up with the shenanigans with good humor and they keep the micro-brews coming.  Owners Mark & Craig are avid soccer players and fans so the bar is running soccer and other sports on the zillion big screen TVs throughout the bar.  It's the place to go for World Cup and other championship matches.   St. Andrew's Bar & Grill is located on the north end of Greenlake right in the PCC parking lot.

Looking for some races?

Check out these excellent race organizers:

The Indie Series - slightly reduced schedule this year but making it happen.

Budu Racing - early season races - get 'em while they're hot (or while it's cold!)

Breakaway Events - puts on the Ashland 12 Mile Super D - Ridiculous, giggling, freakin' good time.  Git it!

The BC Bike Race - our big event, woohoo!!!

Friends of Capitol Forest puts on some great Super D events  - definitely check that out b/c the Super D course is a blast with roots, rocks, drops, some wide open clear cut fast track with berms and table tops - pretty much everything you could want!
